I drew the red arrow so you can see where the baby is. Yep, it's that little blob in the black space. Doesn't look like much yet huh? They said it is measuring at 5 weeks 5 days and we have an updated due date of August 1st. They were able to see the heart beat and said it likely just started since I am so early in the pregnancy.
Being pregnant the second time around is weird. It's strange to say but I keep kind of forgetting about it. I think it's because I'm so busy with Echo that I don't have time to think about it. After our appointment yesterday it certainly seems more real though! No I just have to find a way to stand the wait until we can find out if we are having a boy or a girl :-D
I was totally wondering what it's like to be pregnant the second time, because the first time I was rather obsessed with it and could never stop thinking about the baby! I can't wait to hear more as your pregnancy progresses.
ReplyDeleteWeird that they simultaneously said you are only 5 wks 5 days and also that they could see a heartbeat. Usually you can't see the heartbeat til 8-9 weeks. Early ultrasounds are the most accurate for dating though, so don't let them change your date back sooner later on. It's better to have it too late than too early. :) Then you won't be encouraged to induce too soon.
ReplyDeleteYeah I was relieved they pushed the due date back since I was pretty positive I ovulated late. I was afraid they would stick with the original and then pressure me to induce if we went past the July 17th date. From what they told me it's not uncommon to see a heartbeat at around 6 weeks with a transvaginal ultrasound.
