It's Beginning To Look A Lot Like Christmas...

At least at our house it is! Ever since the first time we looked at this house I have always thought about how amazing it would look with Christmas decorations up. Now that December is finally here we have started going nuts with the lights and holiday decor. We went and got our Christmas tree today and put up a bunch of other festive trimmings and the house is starting to feel very merry indeed. Here are the pics!

I wrapped all our railings in white lights (leftover from our wedding) and hung Christmas cards along the banister.

Fall Floral Design

Late Summer/early Fall is a particularly stunning time of year in my opinion. I've been noticing huge fields of wildflowers popping up around our neighborhood. I thought it would be another opportunity for me to practice my floral design by taking advantage of the natural abundance of beauty we have here in North Georgia. I ended up with mainly golden rod (one of my favorite flowers ever!) and a few white flowers that I have no idea what they were. I also added in a few different kinds of grass to really give it that autumn feel.

Rustic Modern Floral Design

Today I had a little foray in to floral design. There are all the beautiful bunches of Queen Annes Lace growing wild by the side of the road out here in Marietta and I have been eyeing them for weeks. Today I talked my mom in to a little wildflower picking expedition and the two us came back with bunches of the stuff! I also cut a little tall grass to add to my bouquet. Here is the result, I think it's lovely and and simple, the perfect compliment to our dining room :-)
