Story Stones

While I'm working on getting my November pictures up here is a quick little post about my latest DIY project. Every year I try to make one thing as a homemade Christmas Present for the kids. I'd love to do more than one but to save my sanity I have to limit myself :-) Last year it was felt crowns.

This year I decided on story stones! Echo is a big story teller and I think these will be really fun as prompts during our story telling play. Clover will probably get a kick out of just playing with them so I made a set for each girl. They were really fun and easy to make. I used acrylic enamel paint and some river stones I ordered on Amazon.

It was fun coming up with ideas for the story stones and taking my time painting each one. Hopefully this will be something my kids can treasure for years to come.

October Photos

October was a beautiful, busy month. We kicked things off with a trip to St. Augustine, FL. We had an awesome time touring the downtown, visiting the Pirate museum and getting in lots of beach time.

We went to a friend's Birthday party on a beautiful Saturday evening.

We did a few corn mazes before Halloween including a haunted corn maze with Echo one evening. I was worried she would be scared but she loved it!

We have been getting more active over the past few months and have been getting out hiking whenever we can. We visited the creepy and awesome Doll's Head Trail.

We checked out the new Children's section at the Botanical Gardens.

We are pretty active with our home school friends and one of the kids (at only 6!) hosted a day of activities that she planned herself including a science experiment, pillow fight, running wild, fort building and eating pizza. The kids had a blast!

We went trick or treating twice, once on Marietta Square...

And once with friends in our neighborhood. The girls were both Izzy from Jake and the Neverland Pirates.

And I was Harry Potter :-)

September Photos

September was a busy month as we began to enter my favorite season, Fall! It was still brutally hot most of the month but we managed to enjoy quite a bit of outside time nonetheless, with plenty of reading, crafts and indoor games sprinkled in as well.

I even did a little sewing last month and made Echo a special dress to wear for her Birthday party in her favorite color!

We are still spending lots of time at Natural Learning Alternative, the kids' preschool coop where I am now teaching two days a week!

Echo had a Birthday and turned a big 4 years old! We had a family party and a bigger party with friends.

Fall is a very busy time for us so there will be lots more photos coming for the month of October!
